The moment I answered…

You don’t need more time. You need to decide.

Seth Godin

Dear Creativity,

Some days feel ordinary on the surface — just another Saturday, just another item on the calendar.
But yesterday… something shifted.

Yesterday, the date itself seemed to call something forward.
A quiet deadline became a doorway.
I hit record on a video interview — just a tech test, I told myself.
But then something clicked. It wasn’t just a test. It was the beginning.
The first episode of Creative Side Effects.
The moment the idea became real.

And right after that, something else stirred: a fellowship I’d been circling for weeks.
Suddenly, I didn’t need more time to think about it.
I needed to apply.

You’ve been walking with me for a long time now —sometimes whispering, sometimes nudging,
always reminding me why this matters.

In my application, I wrote this:

We need a new model for what professional thriving looks like. A model that doesn’t just focus on output, but on wholeness, purpose, and play. This work creates that model. It shows people what’s possible when they return to the creative practices that once made them feel most alive—and reminds them that those practices are still available.

This is not a someday idea. The need is urgent, the people are ready, and the invitation is clear. That’s why I’m doing this work—and why it has to happen now.

You already knew all of this.
Thank you for holding it with me until I was ready to say it out loud.

Innovatively yours,
Dr. Abigail
