Wayfinding with wonder ⛵️

Dear Creativity,

What happens when an idea, a rubber duck, and a PhD sit together in a creative studio?

Me, an Idea, and “Feedback” (my rubber duck and co-host of the Rubber Duck Sessions) hanging in my little den of creative studio/office space.

You already know the answer, because you’re the one who put us there.

If we were living in Elizabeth Gilbert’s world, it might be called Big Magic.
Tom and David Kelley would say it’s creative confidence.
Bonnie Wan might call it a life brief.
Anne-Laure Le Cunff would say it’s a tiny experiment.
Ingrid Fetell Lee would see it as joyful,
and Mitchel Resnick might describe it as lifelong kindergarten.

As for me? I don’t really have a name for it.
But I know it’s all of these things and so much more.

It’s the rise of my zone of genius.
The way I get to care for this aching world in my next career chapter.
And even as the room begins to take shape, there’s still so much space to morph and grow.

Like every good design challenge, there’s no perfect answer or predetermined goal.
Just a series of tiny experiments, each one nudging the ship forward on its wayfinding path.

So here we are again, Creativity,
map in hand, compass in heart,
ready for whatever discovery comes next.

Now I am wondering…what tiny experiment could we conduct to move us one step closer to our next chapter?

Innovatively yours,
Dr. Abigail
